If we saw ourselves, even for just a fraction in time, as a turquoise ocean or a rainforest bursting with energy and life. We would fall in love so effortlessly. Imagine your soul for a moment; as a field of flowers. This is the colour of your soul. To enhance the colours, to have these flowers bloom so incredibly vibrant, we need to carefully tend to this garden. We need to nurture it; love it. Our whole being is simply a reflection of nature. Seems easy to love nature, right? Then why do we have so much difficulty in accepting and loving ourselves?
I like to imagine the change and flow of energy in our system like our beautiful seasonal changes in nature. Our souls objective on earth is to evolve and it uses autumnal-like energy to trek along its evolutionary path. It is necessary for us to be able to not only learn to listen to our soul voice, but to also act when it sings to us. Our soul is most at home amongst the higher vibrational frequencies, which is when we are in our happiest and most peaceful state. When this becomes disrupted, and we hit a low ebb, it is because we are being tested in the most loving of ways, although it won’t appear that way at the time.
The soul does this, because it recognises the prospect for growth. It achieves this by presenting opportunities which will allow the energy to become transparent, by guiding it out in to the light. These opportunities are often unpleasant experiences which cause us to react. This part of us that is acting out, normally does so out of fear. This part of us reacts much in the same way as a frightened child would. Would we ignore a frightened child out in the real world? Then why would we treat ourselves any differently? The trick is to show ourselves the compassion and reassurance that we would give to a child. It’s no good beating ourselves up about reacting badly. That doesn’t accomplish anything, but neither does ignoring it.
We need to treat these parts of us, these expressions, exactly as they are. As energy.
Do not suppress these emotions. The very fact that we were able to express them in the first place can be very cleansing. The second that we recognise that we have reacted to something, shows us that we have the awareness that there is change needed in order to grow. When we express these energies, we create a beautiful platform for healing. Once there is transparency, if you have sown seeds of self love, there comes compassion and understanding. Because there can be nothing else.
Why is self love so critical to our development? Simply because those who care for themselves, for their wellbeing, make better gardeners! It is our soul that signals to us when certain energies that we hold inside us need attention. The body can then shake that energy off, like golden leaves. It is up to the individual, if they choose to feed these feelings and eruptions. Doing so only allows them to grow in to weeds, which can very quickly become tangled and overgrown. Or if we tend to our garden, acknowledge these feelings and expressions, learn from them and gently let them go, we lift our vibration and in doing so we give ourselves peace. You are always empowered to make this choice. All of us have the ability to grow flowers.
These experiences that cause us to react may simply be echoes of a former time and place. Residue. There is no need to be trapped within the cycle of a lesson, especially those that have attached to us from others on their own journey. This transference can sometimes be carried over in to and contaminate our own experiences. Either way it is energy that we carry and it needs to be acknowledged and released. These lessons that we learn from are little opportunities that have helped us to grow. They stay with us so that next time we are placed in a similar predicament we react very differently. We wear these lessons. They become a blossoming branch in our garden, a beautiful and wise extension of our soul’s biology.
Next time you have an emotion which causes your body to react badly, whether it be an expression of frustration, anger or impatience, listen to its voice and if you do not understand where it came from, dissect it to determine its origin. Ask yourself if that is really how you are feeling and why. Do not push it back in to the darkness, because the soul will only present you with another opportunity in the future to deal with it again. And again. And so the cycle will continue, until you embrace the need for change. With this shift in energy comes powerful transformation and you give your soul the opportunity to flower.
Imagine your soul for a moment; as a field of luminous flowers. This is the colour of your soul. Remind yourself of this simple truth every morning when you wake up and it won’t be long before you see your beautiful nature reflecting back at you in all its gentle colours.
